Erin Ivey writes and sings songs about death at sea and other loves & wonders. Raised in Annapolis, MD on musical theatre and voice lessons from her grandma, she has become Austin’s urban folk darling.

“Erin Ivey is a superstar. It’s going to be frustrating to wait for the world to finally figure this out.” (Chris Magyar, Austin Monthly magazine)

In a few short years, Erin has played over 250 live shows nationwide, garnered a shoutout from Hollywood gossip maven Perez Hilton, and been named one of Austin’s top unsigned artists.

“I would kill for a purr like that.” (Luciana Lopez, The Oregonian)

Locals will also recognize her from the infectious “Take Me to Reids” TV and radio ad campaign, the cover of Austin Monthly magazine’s “Most Beautiful Women” issue, and her “Live at The Long Center” performance broadcast on Music Entertainment TV throughout the year.

“Sweet folk pop… so endearing and warm you want to go back for seconds.” (Perez Hilton, perezhilton.com)

Erin is about to release a brand new album. It is a unique collaboration with R&B/dub organ trio The Finest Kind, due summertime 2010.

“It’s a different kind of sound. That very hard, deep blues background and then (that) voice comes sailing in on top of it. I really dug it.” (John Aielli, KUT 90.5FM NPR Austin)
